Hi Gill! There is a lot of potential for discussion in this publication. The authors are pointing out the complexity of the microbiome and the manifold influences and thus endless investigation methods necessary to fully understand the whole picture. On the other hand they postulate that in vivo testing (method not defined), is the only method that should be used for microbiome-friendly claims. This is contradictory. Not to mention that 5 out of 8 authors are working for a company that offers in vivo skin microbiome testing...
